We came up with our range of donkey milk cosmetics and opened our store in the Sassi neighbourhood of Matera, not only because it’s our home, but above all because this place has enormous symbolic value: it represents rebirth.

We are the Fratello Sole Cooperative, working since 1982 to support the rehabilitation of people suffering from pathological dependencies and/or mental illness.
Our therapy courses are geared to psychological and social rehabilitation, guiding individuals to learn skills that will help them recover self-esteem, interact and work with others; and ultimately, lead a normal and independent life.

 

Donkeys came into our world more than 10 years ago and changed everything for our community. They are wonderful animals and have great therapeutic value: a donkey accompanies you and makes you feel safe, like a guardian angel Even just stroking them is beneficial.
The animal-human interaction is truly extraordinary.
Thanks to onotherapy (or donkey therapy), our courses of treatment achieve excellent results.
